The desert beckons us once again, and the wheel of dharma turns.
“Only part of me will go back to Los Angeles, a larger part of me will remain in the desert. I will be here waiting. When you are ready to leave your relationships, lifestyles, jobs and limited ways of seeing reality behind, when you no longer have desires or attachments to this world, you should look for me out here in the desert. I’ll be here waiting to take you out of this world and through other realities beyond time and dimension. Whenever you are ready, I’ll be waiting.”
~Rama, The Last Incarnation
February 9, 2018 – Rama’s Birthday
On this auspicious day, we will hike into the gorge, meditate, and tell high stories of our desert experiences with Rama.
We will meet in Borrego Springs and caravan out to the desert. After our desert journey, we will return to Borrego Springs for an awesome dinner at a local restaurant, which will be closed to the public and open just for us! You do not have to cover the cost of your meal, as The Frederick P. Lenz Foundation for American Buddhism has kindly offered to host this birthday celebration dinner in support of our spirit of unity.
February 10, 2018
We will have a light-filled meeting of the minds as Rama students share their insights, dreams and what has worked for them that could be of benefit to one another. Examples of brief presentations include successes in: FX Trading, Accounting Services, IT Consulting, and guided travel opportunities. Most importantly, we will discuss ideas to further establish Rama’s lineage before all of Rama’s direct students are no longer in the body. If you wish to present, please send an email to email@example.com.
To top off this happy time of unity, we will wine and dine at a high and elegant venue which includes a patio, firepit, and heaters, and listen to a divine concert by Bodhi and Mudra.
Everyone is asked to leave their ego at home and wear their heart on their sleeve! As Rama quoted many times: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” -- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Please RSVP here no later than January 15 (earlier RSVPs would be much appreciated!) so we can give accurate counts to our special venues. We recommend that you make arrangements for your Borrego Springs stay soon because this is a popular time of year for tourist visits.
Hope to see you in the desert!
