Rama's Birthday Celebration - February 7 to 9, 2020

Monday, October 14, 2019

From American Buddhist Society (ABS):

Dear Rama Sangha,

You are cordially invited to the 2020 Rama's Birthday Celebration!
We have an exciting weekend planned of Learning From Each Other and we hope you will participate. Every time we come together in honor of Rama, the Light shines brighter in our own lives and in the world.
It may seem early to purchase tickets, but it’s important so we can continue to create large group events. We have the unique opportunity to have the biggest Rama Birthday party yet!  But to do that, we need you to get tickets for yourself and your students today.
The room we have booked will hold 170 people; if we reach 150 in paid attendance, they will move us to a larger ballroom IF it is still available. The larger space can hold 400!

Please share this invitation with others in the Rama Tribe, as we do not have everyone's email address. Time is of the essence to share this powerful experience with as many friends of Rama as we can.

"So then, your journey is to unity, and you need to think more about unity and focus on it.  How do you go about perceiving unity?  Well, when you stop thought, that’s unity. Thought is diversity.  Where  else will you find unity?  You’ll find it first and foremost in your heart -- in love.  Love is the strongest power in the universe.  Love is unity."
~ Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz

"The network of enlightenment is the electronic tribe in this world … those of us who are here, who incarnated in this world, join together, and we use the electronic technology to consolidate us and give us strength."

Planning Notes:

We’ve had an outstanding response to our call for speakers, and we currently have 13 short presentations planned around the topic of Learning From Each Other. While the schedule is full, we will create a list of backup speakers, so please contact us if you would like to be on call to step forward if space opens up.
If you have any books, music, business cards, etc. you would like to share at the event, please let us know. We will have a table for people to display their creations. By letting us know you want to bring something to show, we can better plan for how many tables we’ll need.
As one of the gifts, we’re creating a handout called Rama’s Bookshelf. Rama encouraged us to write about our experiences on the Path and with the Teachings, and many of us have. So we’re putting together a list of books written by Rama students. If you would like to be included, please let us know the book title and author name.
If you would like to be a volunteer on the weekend of the event, please contact volunteer@dharmacenter.com.

Once again, please purchase your event ticket and book your hotel room now. We have arranged a block of discounted hotel rooms for Friday and Saturday night, but they must be booked by January. We also will need to pay for the event in advance, which means we need to sell lots of tickets right away! After you purchase your ticket, you’ll find a link to book your hotel room at the discounted rate. (We have guaranteed to use the rooms they have set aside for us, so please use the link to book your room. Standard and upgraded view rooms are available.)
