Sunday, November 12, 2017

(by Rama sangha celebration organizers) Please join us in a wonderful unity and collaboration event to celebrate Rama's Birthday 2018 and honor the 20-year anniversary.

Event to be held February 9-10, 2018. Updated Information below as of January 8, 2018.

Dear Rama Sangha:

This is our final communication about celebrating Rama's birthday with a desert trip and unity event.

February 9 (Open to all Rama Students, no charge for this day!)
  • Desert Meditation and Rama stories
  • Fun and Festive Dinner at Carmelita's Mexican Restaurant, generously hosted by the Frederick P. Lenz Foundation for American Buddhism, and only open to us!  We are taking over the entire restaurant for the evening!
February 10 (Open to all Rama students, $175 charge to cover costs)
This full day and evening will take place at the beautiful, recently remodeled and very frosty Ram's Hill Country Club.   The meeting rooms, outdoor patio and restaurant comprise a beautiful oasis in the desert with mountain and desert views, birds, and amazing stillness.
Here is the high-level Schedule - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are included:
  • Group Meditation
  • Presentations on how different students are helping others engage in Rama's teachings
  • Strawman presentation on an American Buddhist Society and forming a federation of teachers
  • Brainstorming on ideas and next steps
  • Concert by Bodhi and Mudra
  • Potential After Dance party and DJ by Manjushri (we are waiting to get this confirmed!)
January 15 is the deadline for RSVPs!  Please RSVP here to EventBrite to reserve a spot.
An email indicating you will attend is nice to know, but EventBrite is the place to RSVP :).
We hope to see you in the desert!

The desert beckons us once again, and the wheel of dharma turns.

Only part of me will go back to Los Angeles, a larger part of me will remain in the desert.  I will be here waiting.  When you are ready to leave your relationships, lifestyles, jobs and limited ways of seeing reality behind, when you no longer have desires or attachments to this world, you should look for me out here in the desert.  I’ll be here waiting to take you out of this world and through other realities beyond time and dimension. Whenever you are ready, I’ll be waiting.” ~Rama, The Last Incarnation
