"Meditation is not simply a practice. It is an experience, an awareness, a way of perceiving and also a way of life ..."
What lies beyond the physical body is a non-physical subtle body of energy. This body, the subtle body, is actually the basis of the physical body, its health and well-being. According to Rama, “the aging process, the process of decay that we see in the world, takes place largely because the physical is affected through the subtle physical." Therefore, it is important to understand this subtle body of energy that supports our physical form.
This talk-set given by Rama includes 3 talks; Psychic Development, Meditation & Kundalini and Enlightenment & Self-Realization.
"There are two forces at work in the universe -- unity and diversity. Unity is enlightenment. Diversity is illusion or maya, ignorance…. So we could say that, when you step out of enlightenment -- you could say out of grace, if you’re religious -- we step into the world of diversity. We see things as separate…. So then, your journey is to unity, and you need to think more about unity and focus on it. How do you go about perceiving unity? Well, when you stop thought, that’s unity. Thought is diversity. Where else will you find unity? You’ll find it first and foremost in your heart -- in love. Love is the strongest power in the universe. Love is unity." Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
These talks were recorded in 1985 at specific power places in the United States. Rama chose these locations because they emanated the essence of the topic he wished to discuss.
"Next to meditation itself, next to the practice of zazen, I really can't think of anything more important than the development of your career, because nothing has a greater effect on your awareness level. Whether your career is in the work force or your career is retirement and hobbies, looking after a family, a nation, a universe, it's all the same. We're talking about the major focus of your life (and) your time. Your career affects your awareness far more than you realize." Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
"In Tantric Zen the thought is -- "It doesn't matter, but it does". It doesn't really matter what you do -- it is your state of mind that matters ... Everything is dependent upon your state of mind. If you're in a very tantric state of mind, then your experiences will be quite different....
"There are all kinds of wonderful stories, of course, about practitioners of tantra who seemingly break all the rules and yet are enlightened. But they don't try to break the rules. In other words, the thought isn't: ”Well good, let's find out everything we're not supposed to do and go do it!” Or the thought isn't: “Oh boy, I can just enjoy absolutely everything and become enlightened!” Neither of these are real case scenarios. Let us just say that life draws us in different directions, sometimes simultaneously -- and when you follow the direction that life draws you in, if you stay in a very powerful state of mind, then you'll see eternity." Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
“Happy people, enlightened people, successful people, inspired people -- they all share something in common -- they've learned how to manage and increase their energy.
"There are two sides to increasing energy. One is learning how to gain energy; the other is avoiding its loss. My subject today is not so much how you increase it. I'm suggesting that's pretty easy. The problem is losing it.
"The primary place where most people lose energy is in their relationships with others. Wherever dependency is created, energy is lost. In self-discovery, in Zen, you need to become independent and strong. That's the key that unlocks the door ... of enlightenment.” Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
“Zen is the study of making the mind still. As your mind becomes still, a power enters into you. This power transforms your mind. It escalates your evolution and you begin to cycle through many incarnations in one lifetime. You make tremendous quantum leaps and jumps… you are going to take perhaps a hundred lifetimes, which you would have gone through and experienced and gradually evolved through into higher levels of intelligence, and do that perhaps in one lifetime. And you will go through all the changes in awareness, all of the different states of mind, that you would have experienced in a hundred lifetimes." Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
The late 20th century was a determining time period for planet Earth. Did the people of the Earth choose freedom? Find out how the choices that were made during that time period might reflect in our world today.
In self-discovery we seek to go beyond the limited self and experience the clear light of reality. You do not need to know who or what you want to become. You simply need to dissolve. The clear light will take care of the rest.
Tantric Buddhism teaches us how to use the things that we must do in life to empower us rather than drain us. Tantra is a collection of things that work by doing them. It is a pathway of adventure and transformation that leads to Enlightenment.
